Where our carpets come from

Oriental rugs are not a uniform product. Origin, material, and knotting technique determine how a rug looks and feels.

IranPersian carpets are known for their intricate patterns and floral motifs.

PakistanAmong other things, Mori Bukhara carpets with the typical Bukhara pattern in warm red tones come from there.

India and NepalBoth countries have a long tradition of carpet weaving. The carpets range from classic to modern patterns.

TürkiyeTurkish carpets often feature clear ornaments and bold colors.

MoroccoMoroccan carpets usually appear simpler and go well with understated interiors.

ChinaChinese carpets offer a wide variety of patterns and sizes.

In addition, there are Chobi carpets with soft wool and muted colors, as well as Kazak carpets with geometric patterns from the Caucasus tradition.

Why every rug is unique

A hand-knotted rug is created knot by knot. Wool, color, and knotting technique vary from piece to piece. Therefore, no two rugs are alike.

Once a rug is sold, it's usually not available again in that exact form. If you like a particular piece, it's worth making a quick decision.

What you will learn about every carpet

Each rug listing includes four details: size, color, material, and manufacturing process. The photos show the rug as it appears, with its patterns and colors. Colors may vary slightly on screen. If you have any questions about a specific rug, we'd be happy to send you additional photos.

We only describe what we can see and verify on the carpet. We don't make exaggerated promises.
